MS4 crashes when changing audio device
Edit > Preferences > I/O > Audio Device
When I changed to "Headset", MS4 crashed. Repeated 3 times with identical results.

Looks like this issue or something similar has already been reported on Github - see https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/16806
If you have useful information to add, that issue is the place to add it.
Indeed this has been reported numerous times
In the mean time I think the lesson would be to not change audio devices while MU4 is running.
Much the same way you have to have bluetooth devices hooked up before you start MuseScore.
