Notating: Note one octave lower or higher than the automativ
Hello guys,
I'm an Organist and I have to write sheets very often.
But in my sheets there are a few jumps between notes, like I have an D5 and then a G4. I Love to work with shortcuts, so I write the notes by typing the name (like here: "G"). The automatic of the software makes it a G5 and I wanna know, if there's a shortcut to make it a G4 - like: "Arrow Down" + "G" or something like this.
I have the same issues with notes going up like G4 and after it D5. The automatic makes it a D4, if I type "D". Maybe there is a different shortcut here like: "Arrow Up" + "D"?
Thanks for your time!

Enter the note at the default pitch and immediately after (while still in note input mode) move it an octave up or down with CTRL+Arrow up or CTRL+Arrow down.
See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/all-keyboard-shortcuts#pitch for more exciting shortcuts.
Yes, this happens because Musescore sets the new note to the nearest pitch of the previous note. Because G5 is closer to D5 than to G4.
The default action then is, after pressing G for example, to press Ctrl-DownArrow. This moves the note G5 down one octave.
Similarly, Ctrl-UpArrow moves the note you just wrote up an octave.
(Edit: of course Ctrl, not Shift)
