Linux peeps: which distro, which desktop, yea/nay?

• Aug 1, 2023 - 14:59

I'm looking for your feedback on 1) Linux distro + desktop works well for you, OR
2) which distro + desktop has been problematic... with Mu3 and/or Mu4. Thanks!

i can do everything I want in 3.6.2. I mainly use 4.1 to open scores posted on the forum. Both are run as AppImages on the same machine (i7 7750K, 32Mb RAM).

I have been using Linux for more than 25 years.
For me, no more 'cutting edge' stuff. I am done experimenting.
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. Stable, no surprises.
Gnome classic desktop, simple.
If it does not work on Ubuntu, it is probably not worth having anyway.
Musescore (3x and 4x) work perfectly on my systems.
