Guitar Tab Problems

Is there a way to disable Musescore 4 "correcting" my tabs?
For example, putting fret 12 on the 2nd string moves it to 7th fret on 1st, completely ignoring the note I had there and sending it way too high.
When I use the note edit shortcuts, it moves the note between strings automatically.
As I hope you can imagine, this is very frustrating.
