unwanted vertical scrolling when playback is initiated

When editing in a large score, zoomed in on a particular part near the bottom of the page, the view suddenly scrolls to the top of the page when playback is initiated. I am then forced to re-scroll down to the desired view repeatedly while editing the part.
Apparently this issue was address and 2 fixes were created (#10779 & #11181) I believe in 2022.....?
Do I need to download these patches? I assume they would have been included in the updates, but I'm still being plagued with this impossible issue.
