Long redraw for tabs

In the very latest nightly builds opening a new tab causes the tab bar to temporarily disappear while opening a score.

To reproduce:

  1. Start with at least one tab already open
  2. Open a large score (such as bach-bc2)

On my computer the tab bar can disappear for 4 seconds (probably it is less noticeable on newer/faster computers)
