Continuous View Ties Bug
I'm working on a score and when I try to add a tie between two whole notes, it creates this big black bar across my screen instead and doesn't apply during playback. It happens whether i click the button, press T on the keyboard, delete the note and try to add it again, it happens every time.

It's "only" a visual bug in Continuous View (the score is not affected) The fix will be available in the next 4.2.1
By waiting, if you want, you can desinstall 4.2 and install 4.1.1 from: https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/releases/tag/v4.1.1

Do we know when 4.2.1 is coming out? And will my score still work in 4.1.1?

No to both questions
But a "soon" to the former
You can just manually drag that end of it to the correct note and it fixes itself.

Sometimes, one is lucky, and switching ‘Position’ between ‘Above’ and ‘Below’ works, and sometimes, ‘Tie placement’ makes a difference. However, in my score, there are cases where none of the 4 combinations works. Looking forward to getting the bugfix update, this bug is a game-breaker because I am always typing scores in Continuous view, and this kills the experience. Sometimes, any attempts to change one setting back and forth leads to an increase in measure width, and so does Ctrl+Z; worse than that, these changes are permanent and affect the Page View, too, until one deletes the offending tie.

Managed to reproduce the event where the Page View remains corrupted. I do not if the most recent GitHub patch resolves it, but here is how it looks like. Going to Continuous View (Vertical) can fix it occasionally.

Had the same thing with the everincreasing bar and the ctrl+z, but in my case it was triggered by having a staff with invisible barlines. Though I think I might have been in page view.
