Playback pitch changes when sound output is switched from laptop speaker to headphones

• Jan 6, 2024 - 18:16

I just encountered this issue where the pitch of the playback would shift downwards a bit more than a half step when changing the output from system speakers (laptop) to bluetooth headphones.
When making this change outside of MuseScore (i.e. Youtube, VLC Player, any other playback) this issue does not occur.
I have restarted Musescore, reset preferences, tried to change buffer size in preferences-> I/O, changed playback setup from MuseScore Basic to Muse Sounds and back, tried switching concert pitch on and off and have no plugins installed.
This is an issue that came up recently, though I am not sure whether there has been an update of Musescore or not.
I am using Windows 11 64bit, Home, Version 10.0.2 Build 22621 on an Acer Aspire 715.
Any ideas what causes this and how it could be fixed?

W11 pro.
With my bluetooth headphones connected I created a score with 5 measures of C5 at 40 BPM. Playback was C5.
I disconnected the headphones. Playback was at C#5 through computer speakers.

I closed and re-started MU4. Loaded the same score. Playback was at C5 through speakers.
