• Jan 13, 2024 - 18:15

Hi, when I try to write music, MuseScore crash after few notes it has never done it before, I'm actually on the latest version, first it was when using playback with muse hub sounds but I tried with basic musescore sound and it did the same while entering note.
I got 16Go of ram and everything is updated on my computer

I can enter many notes into that score with no crash.

Please provide more information:

  1. What are you doing when the crash occurs - entering notes? playing the score? something else?
  2. What operating system are you using, and what version of that?
  3. Where did you download Musescore from?
  4. Have you tried restarting Musescore?
  5. Have you tried restarting your PC?
  6. Have you tried reverting to factory settings from the Help menu?
  7. What sound devices do you have connected to your PC
  8. Is there any other software running?
  9. Is there anything else unusual about your set up - e.g more than one monitor?

Crash occurs either when I'm entering notes, after a few the instant playing of notes get slower and then Musescore crash, it also crash sometimes when playing the second bar.
I'm actually on windows 10 and I downloaded musescore from the website, then went back to musescore 4.1 to see if it would crash again since I didn't have any problem with that version, and then updated it again to the latest version 4.2 from the website.

I'm composing using a midi keyboard but it never caused any problems.
I've already tried restarting Musescore and my PC, also tried to create a new score and it did the same.

If you do need any further information I'll gladly answer

Here it is, I exactly did that ( in this order ):
- Change the viola key from G to C
- Delete the actual notes
- added my 8 bars on the viola
- delete the ninth bar that I didn't need on the score
- added the pizzicato on cello and bass
- added the notes on the cello then on the bass
