Musescore 4 exporting errors for Clarinet

• Jan 31, 2024 - 19:30

This was created in Musescore 3.5 and upgraded to 4. I was made some changes to measure 8 of the clarinet part. When I exported it, the clarinet changes did not come over in the .pdf version. However, they did in the full score.

I made the changes first by copying over the piano measure into the clarinet measure. (which worked fine in 3.5) The musescore file looked fine, but when I exported it, the notes were the same as the piano part. I tried changing them by hand, that did not work. I tried updating the chords, then it exported the original chord and the new chord above it.

I updated to version 4.1 and got similar results....

What's more, try this.
Copy measure 10 from the piano part into measure 8 of the clarinet part. Looks good in the score. But open the clarinet pat and look at measure 8.

Go to parts, select Clarinet part and make reset.
For some reason full score and parts were out of sync.
Do you have a Musescore 3.5 copy of this score? Can you attach it?

If I copy the measures in question into one of my scores. I can't get the same odd things to happen. And this particular score started in Sibelius, and was run through MU3 and a few versions of MU4. Just trying to check some things to get an answer.

Full score and parts are somehow linked together. Every element (like measure, chord, note, etc.) in full score contains <linkedMain></linkedMain> tag. Every corresponding element in parts contains <linked></linked>
I don't know the reason why it was done this way.
If for some reason element in parts doesn't contain <linked></linked>
then score in parts acts like independent score. You can copy/paste into full score and you don't see changes in parts or even worse: you see both (old notes and new together).
This is exactly what I see with Terra_Nova_III.mscz.
Clarinet part contains only 5 <linked> elements.
Piano part contains 266 <linked> elements.
Full score contains 269 <linkedMain></linkedMain> elements
If Musescore 3.5 worked fine with parts, then something in MS4 is wrong with importing old musescore files.
