Apparently, it has something to do with multimeasure rests.
If I disable its, ("M" key), then do Ctrl + A -> Tools -> Realize ChordSymbols, it works.

Press "M" for disabling multimeasure rests.

Thanks, I wasn't sure what the "M" thing was supposed to do.
In this score I've eliminated multimeasure rests anyway (except the first) because I needed to put chords in each measure as an improvisation aid ...

I can reproduce from scratch. This scenario - image below - causes the program to crash. I'll submit it on GitHub soon.
