Spacebar not working when trying to insert space between two work in title or subtitle or anywhere else
I'm using Ventura 13.6.4 on Macbook and this problem started out of the blue. Can't type spaces between words anywhere.

You might check in Edit>Preferences>Shortcuts that Space is assigned to move to next word and start playback

Thanks for your suggestion. I reset my preferences and this is what shows with 'space'. Looks like it should work but doesn't.

I reset to factory settings, didn't work. Then I deleted the application and downloaded the app again, still didn't work. This is frustrating!

Greetings from June 2025 ... one year after the previous post. I "thought" I'd get into MuseScore 4 (and move away from Dorico) as I saw the amazing new instruments (Voxos & Vienna) and HOW the MuseSounds/Spitfire Union Chapel Organs were AMAZING integrated via "Staff Text" (and being able to channel the preset/stops, AMAZING) and the amazing the VOXOS Choir Voices sounded and their incredible LYRIC sound. So, I BOUGHT THEM!
Now, I am in the MuseScore world, and I can't input notes! Why is it so frustrating to enter an INTERVAL on Voice 2 on BEAT 2?!?!?
So, I press "N" to enter Note Entry .... Option + CMD + 2 to go to Voice 2 on the Bass Clef (where there is already a Half Note in Voice 1) and clicking the SPACEBAR will start PLAYBACK!!!!!! WTH?!?!? So, I MUST add rests as I go?!?!?! (pressing 0 + 1-9 for its rhythmic value)? Is that how it's done?
Did Tantacrul REALLY talk me into his "amazing design" .... Per Tantacrul, only 5% of people use Key Commands, and I am one of them. Integrate more Key Commands, for those of us who are glad to pay for their own instruments, please.
Ok, rant over. Hopefully MuseScore develops further so I can use the $150 of instruments that I gladly purchased. [See the screenshot of what I just bought and can't use because my brain can't seem to get used to MuseScore]

But yes, you can't enter a note on beat 2 if there is no beat 1, and hitting the space bar is not the way to move about in the score (and so not in note entry mode either)
And none of this is related to the topic at hand, which is about inserting a space into some text

I found the problem! Did a search in the Apple community and found that I had a keyboard setting that was on that I had to turn OFF which was "Full Keyboard Access".

Ditto!! Now works for me, too--but wasn't a problem with other apps. (Thanks Mstenson, but still dumbfounded by such a simple/complex rationality!)
