Adding fingering from one note to the next

• Mar 26, 2024 - 07:33

Hello everyone,

I add a lot of fingering to my guitar scores and when I do this, I select a note, add the fingering and then have to deselect, select the next note and then add the next number etc. I was wondering if there was a way of moving to the next note when in the fingering mode so I can avoid leaving and re-entering the fingering menu over and again. I'm thinking in the way you can move easily to the next beat when adding chord symbols or figured bass using Ctrl and the rhythm value. Thank you, Dan

You can do the same for fingering, just use white space to go from note to note, you only need the mouse for the very first note, that's quick and easy (thanks to Marc Sabatella for the implementation).
At least it works like this in V3, I don't know for V4.
I hope that feature wasn't removed in V4?

Marc's fingering implementation works great in MU4.

The following approach may or may not help you for faster fingering entry if you only want to add fingering for 1 or 2 of the notes of a chord without cycling through all of the chord notes with [space]. I assigned [M] to add fingering (because M is next to N), enter fingering, [ESC], [N] for Edit Mode, then [->] to the next note/chord. [M] and repeat.
