Beginner to Musescore 4
Hi
I am in a virtual choir and want to use Musescore to separate my part, alto, from a score. I have only been singing and reading music since the beginning of covid.
I am gradually progressing but still struggle with some of the basics.
I have learnt about measures, adding text, adding and deleting notes and rests etc and making some things vanish.
I would appreciate any advice regarding the following:
- How can I import a score WITH the lyrics from Musescore?
So far the scores I have managed to download do not download with the lyrics, I have to add them myself which takes ages.
- In one score I managed to do most things but there was something that I believe is called a 'hook' which downloaded with 2 hooks both with the number 99 inside them, How can I change the numbers inside them to 1 and the next 2?
I will try to add a copy of my altered score and screenshots of the original.
I would really appreciate any advice in a way I can understand, I am a senior and do not want anything too technical
Many thanks in advance
Pat

Please try the free online handbook https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/ . In particular the https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/lyrics chapter, and https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/notation-repeats chapters.
Also check out https://www.google.com/search?q=masteringmusescore.com , some of the tutorial videos there are free. Mr Marc Sabatella, the tutor, holds regular video chat meetings (may require fees), is patient and explains things very clearly.
