Newest update allows option of opening Musescore 3.x saved files in either 3.x or 4.x?

It looks like this newest update addressed i.e. fixed something that stopped me from using Musecore 4.x.

Is it correct to assume now, that any 3.x saved file now has the option of being opened up in 3.x or 4.x?

A 3.x file saved in 4.x is no longer doomed to use 4.x forever and unable to revert?

Comments

MuseScore 4.x can open scores from all previous versions.
No older major version can open scores from newer major versions (except my MuseScore 3.7 Evolution).
No older minor MuseScore 4 version can open scores from a newer minor version.
This hasn't changed and won't change

you write:

A 3.x file saved in 4.x is no longer doomed to use 4.x forever and unable to revert?

As indicated by Jojo's answer above, the above is not true. When you have saved a file in 4.x it cannot be opened again by 3.x.

However, there is MuseScore 3.7 Evolution which
can open files created by both 3.x and 4.x

You say that 3.x cannot open MS4 files but it can when x=7, which is what Jojo already said.

Also the statement, "A 3.x file saved in 4.x is no longer doomed to use 4.x forever and unable to revert?", is actually true, (i.e. the score is no longer doomed), but you say it's not true.

So I'm a bit confused by your post.
