Converting Music Sheet in PDF format to Tabs using MUseScore

• Dec 11, 2024 - 21:19

I used MuseScore and uploaded a music sheet in PDF format. MuseScore created a file for me, which I uploaded to MuseScore. I don't know how to convert this file to TABs.
A Video on YouTube tells me that I should use Edit and select the Instrument option to get to a screen that allows me to select a guitar instrument and Tabs, but I don't see it in the MuseScore screen.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

MuseScore works best with score files having the native .mscz file format. (The PDF format cannot be opened directly in MuseScore.)
When you say that you "used MuseScore", did you have that music sheet displayed in the MuseScore software? If so, that's the file (.mscz) you need to use. If it is not a guitar sheet, you can change the instrument to guitar within MuseScore.

If all you have available is a PDF file, you can create a blank Guitar + Tab score in MuseScore, and manually enter the notes into the blank staves.
