Basic instructions needed to remove or delete notes
Searching for different combinations of "note erase delete remove" returns all the advanced questions. Where can I find the most basic instructions, for dummies, to erase notes and enter the correct notes.

Tried that sequence but selected note is not deleted/removed. Found the way to delete an entire measure, but that is overkill. What's the magic search phrase, "delete note", "erase note"?

It is "select note, hit Del', Or are you on a Mac? Then it is Fn+Delete.
And it is 'select note', single click, not double-click, that would put it into edit mode

Hi,
On a Mac ... the fn+del gets rid of the note by making it a rest. Is there a way to cut that event out entirely, sliding the following events over in time to replace what was cut?

No need to feel sad. Think about it - how would MuseScore know *how many* notes to slide over? Other programs try to guess, and get it wrong most the time. And it then takes a while to clean up the mess they make as a result. With MuseScore, there is no guesswork, and no mess to have to clean up afterwards. You tell MuseScore exactly how many notes you want to slide over, and slide them yourself - it takes just a couple of seconds.

you are referring to telling it how many notes to slide over via cut and paste, right?

Correct. You know how many notes you want to slide over; MuseScore does not. So you select the notes you want to move, then cut & paste them. No need to even delete anything - just cut and paste the notes you want to move directly on top of the note you wish to replace.

It is working. I think I double-clicked the note I was deleting.
