a bug in musescore

• May 10, 2025 - 11:32

I pasted the notes, but the music chart forcibly raised them by an octave. I am unable to make any modifications to the notes on this track, including lowering the octave or changing the fingering. The score was originally a. gpx file, but I have saved it as a. mscz file.

You confidently state that there is a bug in MuseScore. I am going to confidently state that you made an error,.

Please post the original file and the MuseScore mscz file that was generated. I strongly suspect that it is related to the way guitar music is written but there is, effectively, an octave transposition.

Guitar is written normally in a treble clef with the 8va symbol below. If you copy notes from such a staff onto a normal treble clef they will change octaves. Alternatively, if you copy notes from a normal staff onto a guitar staff, they will change octaves in the OTHER direction.

I agree with underquark and suspect that this is your error. But no one can tell for sure until we see your score (the .MSCZ file).
