Cautionary Accidental plugin problem
When using the plugin, accidentals are not entered in parentheses, even though that option is checked in the Configure tab. Since that plugin is included in 4.5.2, who should be called on for a fix, the original developer, or MSS? Furthermore, there are still two plugins on the plugin page, Cautionary Accidentals and Add and Remove Courtesy Accidentals. Which one is being used? The Configure screen doesn't look like the one in the Cautionary Accidental version.
Color me confused.

Really? That's not what I'm seeing here with the plugin built in/included in 4.5.2.

The plugin doesn't work in real time, i.e. if you add new notes, some of which require Courtesy Accidentals, you have to reapply the plugin. Maybe that's what's happening?

Not for me, I'm afraid. I get the spinning beach ball for a few seconds (just long enough to make me think it was in a loop) and then the accidental appeared, sans parentheses. That delay seems to be only on the first use. Subsequent applications are quicker, but still, no parends. I'm on a Mac, OS 13.7.6, with MSS 4.5.2.

I have no explanation, I'm afraid. If I'm using the same OS (MacOS, 12.7 here), same plugin, and same MS version (4.5.2), which is the case, there's objectively no reason why it should work for me and not for you.
I've also checked: the plugin works just as well on Windows11 (and 4.5.2)

Or maybe it's something specific to your score (a MusicXLM format perhaps, or a large score?).
If wished, attach this score (.mscz file) to check if the behavior is the same or not here.

Nope. Even with the single staff, two measure example shown above, no joy.

Yes, please.

I don't know.

And so, the mystery deepens. If I go to the plugin, Configure > check the box for parentheses, and click the ADD button there, it works correctly. However, if I just use ADD from the menu, no parends. User error, or bug? Both on the desktop, and the laptop.

I am not sure I understand. Why go to the ADD menu, and to add what?
Do you have a picture of what you're doing?

OK, I was on to something else. I guess that's how the plugin works. The “Put accidentals into parenthesis” feature is just an option. Indeed, we might expect that, once ticked in the Configure menu, the plugin would remember your choice. But this doesn't seem to be the case.
That said, to get the desired result, it's just one more click. When you know it...

Thanks for confirming. I'll report it as a bug.
