Pickups
I want to have bars 1 to 4 on first line- bars5 to 8 on the next line etc. on my songs. To get this I go to Style/edit general style/system/fix number of measures per line =4.
But when I add a pick up bar it shifts everthing one bar. The first line has the pickup and bars 1 to 3.
Can I get the pickup plus bars 1 to 4 on the first line - bars 5 to 9 on the second line etc?

Try using the spacers: http://musescore.org/en/handbook/break-or-spacer
or the Break every X Measures plugin
only way I could get it to do what you want was to turn off auto measures/system and use the line break tool every 4 measures. That way when you change anything the line breaks will stay the same.
Yes -line break was just what I was looking for.
