Hiding Flags
In the attached partial score, is this how to link eight notes? Notice I have hidden the flags. Also is there a way to make the stems enter up on a specified measure without doing them individually?
Thanks

Thanks. The answer to my quest ion was no. I did figure it out. Solved
You can set stems up for as many notes as you want - just select them all (eg, select measure, right click one note, Select / All similar elements in range selection) and use the Inspector.
But indeed, you shouldn't normally need to do this. The only reason you were having stems down and having to hide flags is that you entered this as separate voices; had you simply entered it as chords in a single voice, everything would have worked out correctly by default.

Indeed, I found that out. Worked it out as shown in the attached score.
One strange behavior. In the attached score you will see the last beat in the first measure ties to the first beat in the second measure. I found if the second measure isn't "complete" with notes you can't tie multiple notes from the first to second measure. I don't know if I made myself clear. If not I'll attach examples.

To tie chords, you need to enter both chords first, then leave note entry mode, select the first chord, and hit the "tie" button. If that's what you mean, then yes, this is a limitation. Single notes can be tied directly while in note entry mode; tying chords requires these extra steps.
