Installation settings for start menu (Windows)
The latest beta uses "MuseScore" for the Programs Folder and "MuseScore 0.9.6" for the "Add/Remove Programs" listing. However the Start Menu shortcut is still "MuseScore 0.9".
Probably the shortcut should be either "MuseScore" or "MuseScore 0.9.6"
MuseScore version: 0.9.6 b2, r2811.
(Operating System: Windows 7)

I can't reproduce this on Vista, but I'm not sure what I am supposed to see different. See screenshot.
Can't reproduce on Windows XP fr (French install). See attachment.
Weird.
I have the same result as lasconic for the start menu. So I can't reproduce "the Start Menu shortcut is still "MuseScore 0.9"
I did uninstall MuseScore 0.9.6 beta 1 before installing beta 2.
I uninstalled 0.9.6.1 before installing 0.9.6.2
In the past, my shortcut icon always fond the program, but this time I had to find out that it was in a new folder. Also the soundfont had to be re-connected.
All seems to be fine now.
Regards.
Must have been a left over registry setting (I didn't uninstall previous versions).
In the past it was always recommended that one uninstall before updating.
Has this changed?
This hasn't changed.
However, since some people wont do an uninstall and end up with two folders (MuseScore and MuseScore 0.9), I wonder whether the installer can't perform an automatic uninstall if it found a previous version.
"In the past it was always recommended that one uninstall before updating."
Xavierjazz, this is still recommended. I just have lots of versions installed because I use them for testing.
