Font resize not immediate (0.9.6 regression)

Steps to reproduce bug
1. Open Promenade demo
2. Double click on title and select a portion of the text
3. From the text toolbar change the font size
4. Press Esc

Expected behavior: Font size of selected text should change at step 3

Actual behavior: Font size of selected text does not change until after step 4 when you leave text edit mode.

MuseScore version: r.2923 nightly

In 2811, the font size does not change at all.

Specifically in the 2 incidents I named: Trying to alter the size of the segno and trying to change the size of staff text.

When I select a coda sign, the text panel displays. The font size is 20.

Thisa will not resize to a larger font, even on reload.
