Splash screen

I kind of think a professional-looking splash screen, like the one from MuseScore 1.3, goes a long way to convincing a new user that a program is legit. MuseScore 2.0's splash screen is more minimalist, which is okay, but I feel like it's really not classy like the old one. Thoughts? splash screen 1.3.png splash screen 2.0.png

I like the design of the 1.3 splash screen indeed. But, notation geek that I am, it has long bothered that the music depicted shows notes on the wrong side of the stem (the half notes right above the first "e")... That was one of the bugs in 1.3 that was fixed for 2.0 :-)

I guess it's a question of taste. The splash screen in 2.0 looks a lot more professional to me, more minimalistic, cleaner and so more classy. The one in 1.3 looks dated, like a splash screen from the 80s.

The only way forward for MuseScore on the design level is to have a full time designer on board. After all, it's not just the splash screen but instead all the aspects of the MuseScore products on desktop, web and mobile.

In 2.0.1, I think the splash screen has crossed the line into the realm of being just plain badly designed.

I want to make a better splash screen for the future, if there's a way I can.

https://musescore.org/en/about/logos-and-graphics has some key information (not to mention the MuseScore logo) that could be useful, but it doesn't say what the background color is. Can anyone tell me—or tell me that a new splash screen isn't wanted right now?

Proposals are always welcome.

FWIW I like this splash screen and think it's the best we had so far. MuseScore could be better centered but except that I can see how it is " just plain badly designed". It's clean, simple and minimalistic. It has all the necessary information and fill the purpose of a splash screen (users knows that they are launching MuseScore 2.0.1)

The only issue I might with the current 2.0.1 splash screen is that the position of the "2.0.1" makes it appear that it applies to "musescore.org" rather than to "musescore". I guess it was conscious choice to make it less conspicuous than "Version 2.0" in the previous splash screen, and that's fine. But I don't have a better suggestion, and it doesn't really bother me the way it is.
