How to hide invisible stuff
So, this is kind of a dumb question, but I can't find an answer anywhere. How do you hide all invisible things?

You mean, so the greyed out reminders don't show on screen? View / Show Invisible. Of course, they don't print in either case...
You don't mention your version of MuseScore, but anyway...
Printing your score will not show the 'lightly colored' invisible items.
However, if you wish to make them disappear on your display monitor, use the check box located here:
Menu item: View / Show Invisible - for MuseScore2.0
Menu item: Display / Show Invisible - for MuseScore1.3
