MIDI Input selector grayed-out (Windows 7 64-bit)
In the I/O preferences, the selection box for "MIDI Input:" is grayed out, even though I have MIDI devices connected to my PC. PortAudio is selected for audio handling. This bug affects MuseScore 2.0.0 and 2.0.1 under Windows 7 64-bit. Running MuseScore 2.0.0 in Kubuntu 14.04 on the same hardware, my USB MIDI input device (Korg nanoKEY2) works just fine. Running pmdefaults in Windows shows the following available MIDI input drivers:
AeroMIDI Driver [MMSystem]
VMidi 1 [MMSystem]
VMidi 2 [MMSystem]
VMidi 3 [MMSystem]
VMidi 4 [MMSystem]
nanoKEY2 [MMSystem]
As expected, MuseScore isn't responding to any incoming MIDI data on any port.

You plugged in the keyboard before starting MuseScore?
Yes. I always make sure to do that.
I've also verified that the keyboard works in other applications (e.g. Mixcraft, LMMS).
Okay, I've discovered that this bug is caused by the presence of the "AeroMIDI Driver" virtual MIDI cable. After uninstalling this driver, MuseScore now displays a list of MIDI input devices from which I can select, and which work well.
So, it seems that at least one MIDI driver causes MuseScore to not display a list of available MIDI devices. Perhaps there are others. If you would like to test this driver, you can download AeroMIDI here: http://aeromidi.net/download.php
The driver gets installed along with the AeroMIDI application.
Now, with that said, I tried installing the AeroMIDI driver in my Windows 8 x64 install in VirtualBox, and I could not reproduce this bug. Only on my native Windows 7 x64 installs on both my desktop and laptop does this bug occur. I have not tried any other systems beyond these three.
I am also having this issue. I have not installed AeroMIDI.
What OS, what version of MuseScore, and what do you see in Edit / Preferences / I/O? What other symptoms do you see?
