Hi nickst,

Thanks for jumping in! The Hebrew language has been added to the website and software.

We'll start with a simple task so you get acquainted with the translation workflow of the website.

  • Go to http://musescore.org/node/1 which is the teaser post at the top of the front page of musescore.org
  • Click on the translate/ tab
  • Click on the add translation link in the line where you see Hebrew
  • Now, replace all the English text with the Hebrew translation but leave the markup in
  • Once that is done, hit the Submit button at the bottom
  • You can check out your work at http://musescore.org/he

This is how content on musescore.org is being translated. You can repeat the same steps for any other page, either menu pages or handbook pages.

For the software, you can either choose to translate on the translation server, either download the mscore_he.ts file and translate it with Qt Linguist. The latter requires you to post the ts file back to the forum and I'll import it in the online translation server. For using the translation server, you can follow this screencast.

I have a few strings from the website which require manual translation. If you could post the translation in a reply on this comment, that would be kind.

this is how it shows in hebrew on wikipedia:

מפורסם ברישיון Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 3.0 . עיקרו: הנכם חופשיים לשתף וליצור יצירות נגזרות בתנאי שתתנו ייחוס ראוי, ותפרסמו אותן ברישיון זהה לרישיון זה.

it describes the essence of the license. but still they use the english name.

I presume you have been using MuseScore in Hebrew so you know best if the translation is rather complete. If there are strings still in English, you can further translate them via our online translation server.

Where we do still need help on is the translation of the website: both menu pages and the handbook. You'll see that http://musescore.org/he is far from finished. In order to get started, read the Translation instructions . There are also the video captions of the getting started video serie on the front page that can be translated. You can see what content still needs to be translated by going to the Translate menu block > Website content > Hebrew.

Feel free to ask if you have questions or remarks.

Hey
I've actually been using the English ver, so I don't really know, but anyways I think helping out with the website is most important. I'll get to it after my exams next week.

great software, by the way :)

P.S there are some typos and such I would like to correct, how do I do that?
