Closing demo score on very first startup causes crash

Just installed 0.9.6.1r3280 on Windows XP pro SP3. First time it starts, it opens the demo file: clicking on the [x] icon on the doc tab to close it leads to crash, repeatedly every time I reopened the program. I created a new blank sheet, closed the demo, closed the new sheet, closed the app. Now I can use it!

Could this have some relation with an empty (not initialized) session file? Perhaps the session file is being 'altered' when the score is closed, and perhaps it's not successful doing so?
