My score won't open
Okay, so I started working on a new arrangement within the past week, and I got pretty far. Now however, it won't open. First, it gave me a message that the file was corrupted. I looked at the details and it told me that measure eight was being read as 5/4 instead of 4/4 (it was marked 4/4). So i deleted the measure and added it again fixing the problem. Now, it brings up the small starting MuseScore logo the gives a window that says "Musescore.exe has stopped working." I'm using the newest version of the program (2.0.1 as of when I posted this). I've tried it on two different computers, and neither will let me open the backup mscz, file. Is there any way that I can save this file? I transcribed it all by ear, it would be a pain to have to do it all over again. I'll attach the file as well. Hope that helps.

Your file opens fine for me once I ignore the warning about the corruption. Is this the file that crashes for you? It still has the same issue you described originally.
I fixed the problem by simply deleting the extra quarter rest - doesn't always work, but did this time. The resulting file loads with no errors. You should be be able to reproduce those same steps, but I have attached my version anyhow just in case.
Any insight you can share into how that corruption happened in the first place would be appreciated.

I do not know how the file got corrupted, but it still won't open for me. I deleted the measure with the error and replaced it last I remember. The file doesn't open at all on either of my computers.

Which file gives you that error? Are you sure you are loading the correct version? The one you posted does not have the fix you describe - it still has the 5/4 measure in the drums, and still reports that error on load. So it cannot be the one you tried fixing by deleting the measure and re-adding. The one I posted has the simpler fix I described - deleting the extra rest - and it should load with no errors at all. I suspect you are trying to load the version you tried to fix by deleting and re-adding the measure. It would be nice to see that file so we can fix the crash.

That's the one I uploaded. I also tried opening the file you attached and it would not open. These are the files I have on deck. One from a flash drive, one from my computer, and one that's a copy.

I made a bit of progress. I made a copy of the copy, then was able to open it to the corruption window, but after clicking ignore it crashed again. Thoughts?

What is your OS?
It's curious "here". I receive crashs by opening the two files (the first one, and the repaired file) under Windows 8.1 (laptop), but not under Windows 7 (with a desktop much more "powerful").
This is not an explanation at all, it's that I notice, no more.

Both of my computers have Windows 8. Could this be part of the problem?

Both files work on my Win8.1u1 system (high-end), no immediate crashes.
A similar thing has happened to me. I was editing a piece written in 2/4 time, which for some reason had lost the 2/4 time signature at the beginning. When I come to open the edited version it is corrupt with a string of time signature errors, and unuseable, and caused musescore to crash on editing it. The same with the mscz, file. When I put back the 2/4 time signature in the original file, and saved a copy, I could then open that without a problem.
