Easy Start/stop shortcut or icon for Playback

I think a start/stop function for playback purposes is pretty essential - unless there is a short cut key that I'm missing or something that I'm missing, which I don't think I am. I'd personally would like to be able to use my spacebar to stop/play back but the spacebar is already being used for another function.
