How to create overlap notes with dot.

This appears to be technically incorrect. It seems they were trying to indicate two voices - dotted quarters in one voice, eighths in the other - but they (perhaps deliberately, perhaps not) broke a few rules, because the note values don't add up as it is.

The dot next to the C (I'm assuming bass clef) in the circled passage suggests it is a dotted quarter and thus belongs to the top voice, but the stem on the top voice was not extended to the C for some reason. Same with the other note groupings. Again, this is technically wrong, but I guess they figured it might be less cluttered this way and that people would still be able to figure it out.

The *correct* way to enter this would be C & F as a dotted quarter in voice 1, then either the "C" or "F" or both again as an eighth in voice 2. This would give you separate noteheads, which is correct because the dot only applies to one.

The rule about needing separate noteheads because of the different dots is pretty commonly broken, so MuseScore provides an easy way to do that. Select the noteheads you want to merge, then use the Inspector to explicitly set their head types to match explicitly (as opposed to Auto). In this case, I selected the two dotted quarter noteheads and set their noteheads to "Quarter", so they match the noteheads in the other voice.

If you really want to also duplicate the stem error, you would have to remove the "C" from voice 1 and enter another "C" as dotted quarter in voice 4. This will display on the left side of stem at first, but you can then use the Inspector to move it to the right, where it will merge with the other:

This makes sense musically, although it doesn't exactly match the original. The original showed both of the two notes on the beat being held for a full beat (dotted quarters), whereas your version shows only the top notes being held the full beat In practice, the difference won't matter at all. But if you want to match the original better, you can do it in one of the ways I explained - add a second copy of the bottom note in either voice 1 or voice 4. It's really up to you how important it is to match how the original showed it.
