horizontal measure width
Hi there. I need to stretch out a measure so I can fit more text chords above the measure. Found out how to increase vertical space between stave lines but can't seem to stretch out a measure. Thanks in advance for help.

I believe you are talking about Layout -> Add More Stretch (shortcut: the right curly brace key).

Ok, that worked excellent. Thanks so much, the musescore program is a bit maddening, but seems quite powerful besides. Thanks!

I'm trying to do the same thing, but when I press that button, it has no effect (pun not intended). I tried both the layout menu and the shortcut. I seem to remember having this problem before, and found a way around it I think, but I don't know what I did last time. Is there another way to do this?

Without seeing the score, my best guess is that you have a system break affecting the layout.
Just making note for myself.
Select the measure you want to increase/decrease. Press { / } to adjust to your preference.
Hi, How to adjust only 1 measure (1 bar) width?

add or remove notes? We would need to see the measure in a score. It's impossible to adjust the width of only 1 measure, other measures on the same system or staff must be adjusted also to allow the measure to grow or shrink.

To make a measure narrower or wider - which will indeed necessarily affect.othet measures - otherwise the whole system would get shorter or wider - use Format / Stretch. Sometimes to get one measure really narrower, it's actually more effective to make the others wider.
