Two Drum Notation Problems

• Feb 6, 2011 - 03:05

In the first bar, there's a mismatch between the first and second voices with regards to length (compare the first quaver).

Because drums are tricky and I'm not used to them, it might be better if someone else could try reproducing and come up with a report.

-----

1. Create 4/4 drum score.
2. Select bar
3. Enter Note Entry.
4. Drag any drum note over.

Result: The remaining bar rests turn red - is this normal?

I have attached a score, showing the issues respectively.

Using MuseScore 1.0.0 pre-release 2 (3949) and Mac 10.4.11.

Oh, you mean in the already existing measure? I thought you meant something having to do with entry of new notes as per the steps you originally gave. Looking at the already existing measure, it looks like a big confusing mess to me, but I guess I assumed you had done something on purpose there, because I don't think I could create that particular combination of notes if I tried.

It does look a mess :).

Was hoping at the time someone would be able to help (while my mind was still fresh), because I don't know about drums (other than the fact it's tricky).

I think I copied/pasted and changed a drum note (can't remember exactly).

I tried uploading a zip file (score and audio), but couldn't.

FWIW, which may not be much as I'm using 0.9.6.3, here's what I get when I copy and paste a few bars down.

Also, when I drag the notehead from the drum pallette, I also get red colored rests.

This really is a mess, from the beginning to the end of the measure, nothing lines up anywhere. Congratulations on that, as I'm pretty sure I don't know how to make a measure so messy. :P
