Time signature not appearing on new page
Hello!
I'm working on a score with some changing time signatures and came across something strange. The first page ends in 12/8, so I would expect that the first measure of the second page would include a 12/8 time signature. Unfortunately, there is no time signature showing at all, which is weird for the first measure of a page.
If I try to add at 12/8 time signature to the the top of the second page, then it adds a courtesy time signature to the end of the preceding page, which doesn't make any sense because the time signature isn't changing. I don't want to disable courtesy time signatures in the Style menu because I want them to appear in other places in the score, but I do not want one to appear across this page break.
I hesitate to produce the file of the score that I'm working on because it contains some copyrighted material. Hopefully my descriptions are helpful enough. Does anyone know what's going on or how I could get the time signature to display on the first measure of the page?

Welcome, maybe I'm wrong, but if there are no changes of time signatures, it is implied that the subsequent pages have the time signature of the principle.

Same is true for clef and key sig, yet is is possible to have them being repeated.

I suppose it's not standard to repeat it on every page, but because the particular score I'm working on is in such a strange mix of meters I thought it would be clearer to have it repeated after a page turn. I didn't realize until now that that's not actually all that common.
Either way, it looks like there isn't any way to do what I'm trying to do without brute forcing it by just manually placing numbers on the staff, correct?

Manually placing the time signature itself, you mean? If so, yes. No need to place plain ordinary numbers.
Looks like what you are asking for should be made possible in https://musescore.org/en/handbook/layout-and-formatting-0#style-edit-ge…, i.e. we would need an additional setting "show time signature in every system"
Instead of using the Style menu, try this:
1. Right click on the time signature of the first measure at the top of the second page.
2. Select 'Hide Courtesy Time Signature' in the context menu.
Regards.

I am picking up this thread as I have not been able to find a way to display the time signature on each page, in particular when exporting to pdf.
As far as I understand there is no "show time signature in every system" setting.
Am I missing something?

There is no such setting, because standard music notation doesn’t really include time signatures in each system. Do you have some special reason for wanting to see them? If it’s that this is not one continuous score but rather separate songs, movements, or excerpts, add a section break between them, then a new time signature.

I know, however I am working on a piece with frequent changes of signature and having that option would not hurt. Nevermind

You could probably format your score and parts to show that after the piece is finished. But it seems to me that it would be more trouble than it is worth.

It's certainly possible that someday there will be a feature to support this sort of notation more directly, if enough people seem to want it.
Meanwhile, indeed, best to wait until you're basically done with the piece and have settled on the layout, then add the time signatures manually if you like. In principle, a plugin might be able to automate this.

agreed, make sense
