2-lines Drum Set Writing

• Jan 5, 2016 - 00:29

Hello there,
I'm trying to write a percussion part (no fancy note heads) that looks as follows.
I was able to do it with the previous version of MuseScore (on 10/21/2014).
Now I can't replicate the same thing with the latest version.
Do you know how I can do it?

Ah, yes, if you try to open a score containing a 2-line staff that was created in 1.3, it won't look right in 2.0. That's a known bug that is already fixed for a future release - see #19197: Non-5-line drumset stave lines incorrectly positioned. I thought you meant you tried to create a new score in 2.0. That should work, although the results aren't ideal in the current release either (but will be in the release that includes the aofrementioned fix).

I'm gonna post a new feature request with some sample images.
As educators, we need to use basic 2-line staves on an ordinary basis, many times with no fancy note heads, just regular ones.
The 3-line staff is still used for some purposes, but modern educators often choose 2-line if sufficient.
The images I'll post will show some different and possible notation for 4-part writing in modern drumset.

Blessings,

Gianpaolo
