moving chord causes it to disappear

Version 1.0, Windows Vista

1. type in a chord symbol; don’t hit Enter
2. hit and hold right arrow to move it over
Result: chord starts moving, but ultimately just vanishes (long before it has actually moved off screen). Hit Esc to exit edit mode and it re-appears.
