Hi all

I have a score where I have used the Piano template. I have used this as treble and bass clef for voices.

I have a section with I have overlapping vocal arpeggios.

The issue is every time I input lyrics into the bar for a voice it increases the height of the system. I now have a system that is 2.5 times the height of the other systems in the piece.

I would like to see a feature that allows you to shrink/expand the height and width of a system.

Another feature I'd like to see is user choice on the number of systems appearing on a page

I don't know a way around the issue with lyrics increasing space - normally most people would consider this a good thing, but there are cases like your where it isn't.

But you *can* control the number of systems per page, by setting the parameters this depends on. This includes the sze of each staff (in layout->page settings), the amount of space between staves within a system and between systems (style->edit general style->page).

Hi thanks for your reply, I find that changing these settings affected [roughly] the first half of the score [reduced the system height] and left the rest of the score unaffected: except for the two bars I want to shrink in size height-wise. The effect of these setting changes 'bunched up the notes, lyrics and articulations present in the measures from left to right, leaving them unreadable. So I 'undid' the changes.

Let's hope a later version allows the user to select and change a single system :-)

You might want to posting your file and a series of steps to reproduce the problem, and/or a screenshot. What you are describing doesn't sound normal. I've changed these settings quite often, and it's always worked just fine.
