Since 3.6 has the automatic vertical frame size option enabled by default, it prevents users from resizing them by hand as they were used to.
My proposal is that we should uncheck the automatic size option automatically as soon as a user starts dragging the frame handle to adjust its size. Thus allowing the "old" way of working again without hampering the new.
Another possibility would be to remove the handle from the frame if the size option is checked, but imo that would lead to a far worse UX.
