Hi Matevž,
Thanks for jumping in! The Slovenian language has been added to the website and software.
We'll start with a simple task so you get acquainted with the translation workflow of the website.
This is how content on musescore.org is being translated. You can repeat the same steps for any other page, either menu pages or handbook pages.
For the software, you can either choose to translate on the translation server, either download the mscore_sl.ts file and translate it with Qt Linguist. The latter requires you to post the ts file back to the forum and I'll import it in the online translation server. For using the translation server, you can follow this screencast.
I have a few strings from the website which require manual translation. If you could post the translation in a reply on this comment, that would be kind.

Can you also please change the term on homepage:

Hi Matevž,
Let me know if you need some help.
If you have limited time, I would suggest to translate the node/1 link and the string in the second comment. That way, google will index musescore.org in slovenian and attract more people who can help out with the translation.

Hi Thomas.
I translated the teaser for now. I'm translating the trunk's Slovenian linguist file offline. I hope I'll send you the first version during this week.
Best wishes.
Hi Thomas et al,
I translated the majority of the language file now and I have 2 questions:
1) Should the terms under "symbol" be translated? What do s0do, d1do, u1do, d2do, u2do head etc. mean?
2) I cannot test the language. I compiled trunk two days ago, but the language was still English. No languages, except for System were shown in settings. I'm not sure even, if .ts files were compiled. I also did make install, but no luck.
Regards.

1/ I'm not sure for the symbol. In french,we didn't translate them. Just "head".
2/ you compiled on linux ?

2) Yes, Ubuntu 10.04.

Normally the qm file are generated by make. Try
cd build; make lrelease;
The file are then deployed in /usr/local/share/mscore I think.

ThePianoGuy, with regards to d1do, etc. see http://musescore.org/en/node/3015#comment-10639
To test the translations make sure you are also doing the last build step described in the developer handbook (
sudo make install
). See http://musescore.org/en/developers-handbook/compile-instructions-ubuntu…Hi guys.
I'm sending you the first version of Slovenian translation. Most of translation is done, tested and MuseScore is usable. Please commit it to SVN.
Best wishes.

I imported the ts file in the translation server and from there it will be committed to the code repository.
I noticed however that you didn't translate mscore_sl.ts of the 0.9.6 branch but the one from the head. This is not a problem, but since we are planning a maintenance release (0.9.6.1) I just wanted to let you know that your translation will be included in this release, it will not be complete.
In reply to Imported in the translation server by Thomas
OK, I thought the trunk was the most actual version of the translation file which includes all the needed terms. Can you please update my translation for new (0.9.6.1?) terms and give me the link to re-translate the missing terms? Is the upper mscore_sl.ts from 0.9.6 branch the updated one?
In reply to OK, I thought the trunk was by ThePianoGuy
The ts file you uploaded has been committed to the head and imported in the 0.9.6 branch on the translation server. Soon the head will be imported in the translation server as well while the 0.9.6 branch will remain for people to further translate it if they wish to.
So if you wish to update the 0.9.6 branch, simply go to the translation server and check out the screencast how to finishing untranslated strings.
Thx for the better translation of the slogan.

Once again, I'd like to offer my help in translating MuseScore to Slovenian. Let me know where I should start!

Hi Jaka,
Welcome on board! The Slovenian language has been enabled on the website and software but needs serious work.
We'll start with a simple task so you get acquainted with the translation workflow of the website.
This is how content on musescore.org is being translated. You can repeat the same steps for any other page, either menu pages or handbook pages.
For the software, we have a translation server in place which pushes translation updates to the MuseScore nightly builds. Read all about it at http://musescore.org/en/node/22982
If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask.
