If you want the next version of MuseScore to not hang for you then a bug report would help. Are you able to reproduce the hang or crash?

I was playing back my first score (one piano, two staves, four bars based loosely on "Happy Birthday") when MuseScore stopped and ran off crying to Microsoft.
Using Windows 7 Home Premium, fully patched & up to date.
Event log details attached.

No, I can't reproduce the crash at all now. And there was no score really, just a few notes entered to test the Save function for the first time after installation. All seems ok now.
