what happened to "Delete Selected Measures", also callable via Ctrl->Del
I'm looking all over the new menu but I can't find how to delete measures. Ctrl->Del doesn't work. And I can't find it by searching in the Shortcuts. (I managed to delete eventually by making a shortcut for "Delete Trailing Measures".)

It got renamed to "delete timeliness" IIRC. it is under discussion whether to rename it again to "remove", see #124241: Unable to delete measure(s) with "control delete"

OK. I reset to factory settings, and that updated the shortcut. I prefer the name "Delete Selected Measures" but I won't make a fuss.

Well, the big difference is that now it also works on a single note or a couple of notes. We didn't get any feedback yet, but I'm curious how it will be used.

I see. Well my feedback is that musescore updates shouldn't change the behavior of a specific keystroke. I'm not saying to get rid of this new "Timewise Delete" function, but I don't think that it should use the same keystroke. Most users have these shortcuts memorized, and will just cause frustration if behavior changed.
Regarding the timewise delete feature itself, I think it can be useful, but it can also easily cause someone to corrupt their score, since will leave non-full measures. It's more powerful, but more dangerous. I say keep it but use a different default keystroke, such as Ctrl->Shift->Delete.
If the name "Delete Selected Measures" is confusing, then maybe it should be changed into "Delete Measures containing Selection".

I have to say that I agree strongly with ericfontaine on this. The name 'Timewise Delete' means absolutely nothing to me as a user, and IMO should not be applied to a command that was much more descriptively named in previous versions. 'Delete Selected Measures' means something very clear and specific in plain English that any user should be able to understand without help; 'Timewise Delete' does not.

Sounds like maybe you guys want to express an opinion here: https://musescore.org/en/node/126586
But I have to say, while I don't love the name, I don't understand the objection in general. If you use the new function the old way, it behaves the same as always. It's just that now there also new things it can do if you use it differently. I don't see how that is a bad thing.

I'll write there. My prime objection is that the behavior of the keystroke has changed if selected only part of a measure.

Thanks for the steer to that thread, Marc. I've added my $19.95 to that thread. ;o)
