Complete n00b here. I want to convert a pdf to midi.

• Jan 3, 2017 - 10:35

So I bought an "Evanescence - Lacrymosa" sheet music from this site: http://www.onlinesheetmusic.com/lacrymosa-p361273.aspx

I was expecting to get a midi for a ringtone but I got a PDF instead. I tried putting it up on pdftomusicpro but no luck. I've uploaded the PDF if anyone is interested.

As I mentioned, I'm a noob and I'd love to know how to convert it if it's not too complicated, but if someone is willing to convert it for me, I would really appreciate that.

Thanks in advance!

I would suggest you enter it into MuseScore yourself. Checkout the handbook (F1 brings it up on the web as default). You don't necessarily have to enter the verses or the chord diagrams to make it work since there is no voice synthesizer. This will make it rather a straight forward task. If you get stuck just add to this post and there a volunteers here most of the time more than willing to help you.

Just a caution, straight from the first page of your PDF:

NOTICE: Purchasers of this musical file are entitled to use it for their personal enjoyment and musical fulfillment.
However, any duplication, adaptation, arranging and/or transmission of this copyrighted music requires the written consent of the copyright owner(s) and of Alfred Publishing Co.. Unauthorized uses are infringements of the copyright laws of the United States and other countries and may subject the user to civil and/or criminal penalties.

Whilst making a ringtone out of it could be in a shady area (still for personal use; but it is an adaptation…), having the PDF attached to your post above counts as duplication (and re-publishing) which definitely is in violation with the copyright of that score.

Thanks for the warning. Didn't really read the first page, I went straight to the sheets but couldn't make heads or tails out of it. I'd edit my post to remove the attachment or delete it entirely, but I'm not sure I could do either, there are no delete or edit buttons on my post. If one of the moderators or admins can do that then that's great.

It's kinda upsetting since I can't do anything with the PDF and it's the closest thing I could find to a midi...
