Lyrics with Volta

• Apr 20, 2017 - 03:11

I have a score with Lyrics and a Volta with first and second endings. Notice that the last word of the second verse, "adiós" is hyphenated "a-diós". The a- is just before the Volta and the -diós is in the second ending. Also notice that MuseScore has put hyphens all across the first ending making it appear that the first syllable is held across the full duration of the first ending which, of course, is not the case.

I have tried entering a dios (without the hyphen) but these hyphens are still inserted into the score. In fact, I have tried several different combinations, but the hyphens always show up.

Is there any way to prevent this?

What version are you using? I did exactly that using 2.0.3 and it worked exactly as I described.

To be clear:

1) double click the "a" in the second verse, last note of measure 30, sopr.ano part
2) press space bar

Result: all hyphens across the first ending disappear. The first and last hyphens remains, but that they because they are actually part of the lyric - looks like you entered it via Alt+"-".

Same exact result using the tenor staff.

I, too, am using 2.0.3. Yes, I did enter hypens after 'a' and before 'diós' because I was trying precisely that method but the hyphens did appear across the first ending. However, I must have done something differently, because when I tried what you said just now, it worked perfectly.
