Check for Updates, attempt to execute the update. After a very slow download, the installer launches. After accepting license terms, installer always fails. Very frustrating. Strange thing is the same update ran to completion on my laptop, but not my main system.

Do you have anti virus turn on? This may prevent completion of the install.

Are you trying to apply the update while MuseScore is running? I have found that this makes the installation stall. Other programs handle this more gracefully, automatically closing the old version with an invitation to save work in progress.

Is this a recent change? I haven't done an update from within MuseScore since several versions ago when I decided that it was simpler to do the update manually. At that time updating from within MuseScore you had to keep MuseScore open to complete the download and then close it to complete the update.
Ever since the autoupdate IIRC? You'd have to keep it open during the download and the beginning of the update, then during update it asks whether to kill the running MuseScore.

Hmm? Seems one of us doesn't RC. Perhaps it is me. I am not going to downdate and re-update to check though.
