time stretch on accents not changeable for playback

Hi

I am trying to emphasis a note and used "Tenuto-accent -Above" . Went into instpector>articulation. I checked play and wanted to stretch the "time stretch" from 0.1 to 0.3 but the change does not get accepted. When I take a look at the time stretch again, its back to 0.1 Is this the default for piano? (sorry if we addressed this before)

Thanks for the threads. But correct me if I'm wrong. The accent is not just time strech, its suppose to have time and dynamic (velocity???) change all in one. So maybe, if not suggested earlier, accents playback should give user one screen to choose momentary dynamics that automatically default back to pre accent dynamics. I can imagine the workaround is totally doable but for each accent then I would need a new dynamic and post accent dynamics , possibly hidden.

What about my suggestion of adjusting a continuous curve for velocity as you play and listen. Then depending on the curves levels, the dynamics are automatically placed/written in, each time u cross from one velocity range to another. User can even shift the vertical axis to define the velocity range per dynamic.

I don't think such list is available now. The common practice is to show a list of the features in a future version when releasing that version's alpha or beta version. Although for MuseScore 4, there's a summary of some of the features that will be available at https://musescore.org/en/MuseScore4/.

And about the velocity curve, what is the difference between that and a simple crescendo/diminuendo line?

I need to play with cres/dim more, but I believe....Cres /dim lines don't place dynamics for you on score as u adjust dynamics curve. With a continuous curve, you can lift the curve and all the dynamics along the lifted curve portion are automatically lifted (keeping their relative velocities) together. U can do this in a small selection. Also, contious curve technique will allow playback to precisely hit a unique velocity per note while the score will be getting labeled with discrete dynamic marking only when curve crosses into a new dynamic range.

Curve can be adjusted in real time as a piece is played. U can be "ahead of the music" tugging on curve as you predict where the velocity will go next.

Here, ear/sound lead the dynamic placement, not writing leading the sound, which likely need to be played back and readjusted.

When there is a change in major versions anything can change. The program manager outlines the major changes as Howard-C indicated. There will be no detailed list like you get between minor and bug release updates. The way to find the changes is to read (and even help with) the documentation that will be developed as the final release is nearing.
