A recent discussion suggests that copy-drag is fully implemented on Windows, but my experiments show that copy-drag on the Mac is not well supported. Please bring MuseScore for Mac up to the level of Windows in this respect.

Also I'd recommend a different modifier key. I've heard that there are issues in MuseScore's IDE with cross-platform keyboard compatibility—maybe "uniqueness" is a better word.

Copy-drag on the mac is option-drag not command-shift-drag. This is true both currently and historically. It would be most helpful if MuseScore didn't stray from that.

Title Fix Copy-drag on Mac OS Copy-drag not working with some elements on some systems

Right now we don't know it really is Mac-specific - other mac users seem to be able to initiate this action (same action as palette customization) just fine. So we need more information, like whether you can add these same elements to your palette or if the same issue - including lack of mouse cursor feedback - appears in that case. Also, we'd want confirmation from other Mac users whether they see something similar. Could also somehow be particular to your score, so attaching a sample would help.

Thanks for following up Marc.

I didn't retest with every object, but I find that I'm able to drag "copy-drag adverse" items to a palette; when the mouse "enters" the palette the Green "+" cursor appears and MuseScore successfully deposits the object on mouseUp. So the problem seems to be specific—in this respect— to intra-score Mac copy-drag.

I performed this morning's test on a new, empty scor. I simply added a few notes, and then an object to test like volta, dynamic, etc. Once I tested the object for copy-dragability I deleted the object and tested another. For this reason I didn't save the score ... but if I test again I'll create and save a score to submit with an accumulation of various non copy-dragable objects added.

In the meantime I hope we hear back from other Mac users. (AND that we get their opinion on modifier keys: i.e object-drag vs. Command-shift-drag.)
