note input sextuplets
Hey guys,
I could use some help please!
I would like to input sixteenth note triplets of a single note A for instance. Just 24 notes to the bar.
When I try to use Control-3, it keeps giving me 32nd notes.
Whats the correct way to input this?

Take an 8th as the base duration, then type Ctrl+3

Thanks Jojo!
That seems to work. But I cant seem to delete the rests at the end of the bar.
Shouldnt my 24 notes equal one measure of 4/4?

Sorry, I dont have a score. I am not a composer. Just a beginner guitar player teaching myself how to write simple exercises for myself.
But thanks for your help!

Of course you have, that's where you did enter your triplets and what you created the PDF from.
I'm talking about the mscz file, the one MuseScore creates.

Yes, that measure is too long, as the little grey + sign indicates.
Select the rests and press Ctrl+Del

It worked!!! Thank you so much :)
And thank you for your patience :)
(hitting delete wasnt working, didnt know I had to hold down control)

holding down ctrl removes the beat of the selected note or rest from the measure. Delete alone only turns a note into a rest, which is more common.

Glad you got that much figured out, but FWIW, there seem to be another issue in your score: the spacing is inconsistent in that measure with the triplets. That seems to be connected to a series of rest (invisible, because your tab style is set not to show them) differing durations on that staff that probably shouldn't be there. If you click the measure and press Delete (not Ctrl+Delete), that will replace all those rests with a single measure rest, and that will fix the spacing on the top staff.

Wow, you are Marc Sabatella, the famous author that literally wrote the book on MuseScore! I saw your book on Amazon, but alas could not afford it at 40 bucks, so I decided to arduously teach the software to myself (while learning music theory at the same time!). I know, its a real uphill task haha. But I will try to do my best, and hopefully just need to learn some basics.
Thanks for clearing up the inconsistent spacing issue, that worked! It was driving me nuts.
Thanks and have a great day!

Don't buy his book. Although it is still a good book, it is slightly outdated by now.
If you're looking for a more structured course to follow other than the handbook, then consider his online course instead (https://school.masteringmusescore.com/p/complete). Cheaper than his book and up to date ;-)

Indeed, what he said - don't buy my book :-)
