"Realize chord symbols" gives a chord extending to the end of the score

Open the attached file. Select the chord symbol, then right-click and chose "Realize Chord Symbols." Press OK.
Expected result: Chord on that beat.
Actual result: Chord extends to the end of the score.

The chord symbols is set (in Inspector, probably by default) to extend "Until Next Chord Symbol". There is none ⇒ it extends to the end of the score.
Set it to "Chord/Rest" duration to have it only for the beat, or to "Until Measure End" if you want that, or add more chord symbols

I hear you that this is the default behavioir. What is the reason for this design decision?
Is there any reasonably easy way to have this setting different depending on the instrument? For accordion (for example), the default of "Until Next Chord Symbol" makes no sense especially since the bass cleff will typically be a mix of chords and standalone bass notes.

My idea was to have a more than 6 note Chord Symbol (3 or more Octaves) for the fullest possible sound yet
What is the workaround, and what is the Regression against?
