1-Click Edit -> Preference
2- Go to the I/O (Input/output) tab
The Button of "Restart Audio and MIDI Devices" & the button used to "Reset All Preference to default" (highlighted in the attached picture) looks very similar, start with the same letters(Restart & Reset) and they are located in the same direction where your eyes move to find them (left bottom corner) so it is easy to mistake one for other when in a hurry, i guess am not the only one who did reset all preference by accident
Suggestion : Change the place or shape of one of the buttons

That "Restart Audio and MIDI Devices" can also be achieved by toggling (off and back on) the MIDI button in the toolbar, that 5-pin DIN connector icon

This is not an issue in current MuseScore 4 builds, in part because there is no longer a way to select I/O devices and therefore no longer a button to reset. But I'll leave this open to make sure we think to check this if those controls get adds back. The "Reset Preferences" button is now offset to the left sidebar making confusion much less likely.
