Midi Device Not Found (wanting to output Scores to digital piano)
Hi,
I'm running V3.6 MuseScore free version on a Windows 11 PC. I'm wanting to output to my Yamaha Clavinova CLP-725 piano via USB midi. I've read the MuseScore user manual and followed the instructions and also searched the FAQ. The Yamaha midi device driver is installed and working correctly on the PC. I turn the keyboard on before starting MuseScore. At Edit / Preferences / I/O there are no selectable options for MIDI input and MIDI output? The utility MIDI-Ox on my PC allows me to play notes from my PC to the piano so this verifies that the PC device driver and USB interface to the piano is working correctly. Do I need the Pro version of MuseScore? I notice that the mixer option is not available on my version.
Comments
There is no pro version of the MuseScore software. Nor does it have anything to do with W11.
I can't get my Yamaha usb keyboard to work, either. I suspect usb mitigates midi.

The MuseScore website lists a Pro version

No. That's the musescore.com website, see https://musescore.org/en/faq#faq-20657
There is no pro version. And the mixer is available on your version, as it is on any. See also https://musescore.org/en/faq#faq-20239
If the device doesn't show in Edit / Preferences / I/O, it could be the driver is only 32-biut. See if they have a 64-bit version, or any other updates. If not, maybe try downloading the 32-bit version of MuseScore.
